The walkthrough of the presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign at one of the McDonald's restaurants in Pennsylvania revealed unprecedented consequences for the fast food chain. Smear comments overwhelmed the restaurant's profile on the online-rating platform (Yelp), causing the platform to block additional comments.
One of the commentators noted: "The service was just awful. The old guy was handling the bronze utensils with my card slices without gloves." Another user claims that "the unkempt old man working by the window was holding the change."
Out of 104 reviews, only 76 gave the restaurant a single star. Yelp acknowledged that this was a genuine flow of comments, pointing to a growing public interest in the fallout from Trump's visit, which led to an increase in ratings.
The restaurant was closed to the public due to this incident, as previously reported by clients in this case. "McDonald's" stated that it does not participate in political campaigns but organized events in support of Trump.
