FIFA Announces New Ticket Sales Phase for World Cup

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced the release of one million new tickets for matches of next year's World Cup. This ticket sales phase will be open to all fans, regardless of their country. Tournament Chief Operating Officer Himo Sherji said: "We have already seen significant interest from around the world in this tournament, especially from the host countries, where Canada, Mexico, and the United States are preparing to host the largest FIFA World Cup ever." He added: "This second phase, with its dedicated period for host country fans, will allow us to thank the local supporters while also ensuring global opportunities." Fans in the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be able to enter the draw before it closes on Friday. FIFA described the process as a lottery, running from November 12 to 15, and fans will be notified at least 48 hours before the sales window opens. Starting November 17, more eligible fans will have the chance to get host country tickets, with FIFA stating that additional tickets will be made available at a later time.
