Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner (2nd) defeated Russian Daniil Medvedev (11th) in straight sets to lift the trophy at Indian Wells, the first Masters 1000 of the season. According to the Argentine News Agency, the Italian won after two tie-breaks, with a final score of 7-6 (6) and 7-6 (4). With the victory, Sinner secured his sixth career Masters title and his first conquest at the Californian event, and he heads to the next Masters in Miami, which he won in 2024, in the best possible spirits. Jannik Sinner took advantage of Carlos Alcaraz's (1st) absence in the grand final and played a solid match, although without the superiority that characterized him during 2024 and much of 2025, and he defeated the Russian Daniil Medvedev, whose strong start to the season returned him to the Top 10 in the live ATP ranking. The Italian's solidity, which was well countered by the world number 1 in 2022, was mainly marked by the level of both players' serves: there were no breaks and only two break points were registered, for Sinner, during the first set. The parity of the first set persisted during the tie-break, in which Sinner managed to hold all his service points and only won one on his opponent's serve, although it was timely: as it was the fourteenth point, Sinner was able to clinch the first set with that single return point. In the second set, although there were no break points at all, the tie-break was a bit more even on the return points. In it, the current Wimbledon champion started at a disadvantage 0-4, but he did not lose any more points and won four on his rival's serve, allowing him to close it at 7-4 and take the title.
