Tiger Woods Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

Tiger Woods was arrested on Friday as a suspect for driving under the influence after his Land Rover, traveling at “high speed” on a residential road, clipped a truck and overturned onto its side. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Woods was able to crawl out of the passenger side and was not injured. “Yes, he showed signs of being impaired to drive,” Budensiek said. He emphasized that Woods was being held in jail but separate from others. He added that investigators believe he had taken “some type of medication or drug.” According to Budensiek, Woods submitted to a breath test that came back negative but refused a urinalysis and was arrested. Under Florida law, he would have to spend eight hours in jail before being eligible for bail. Budensiek said his office will uphold the law no matter who is accused of a crime.
