Nine-Year-Old American Lucy Millgrim Lifts 82 kg

Nine-year-old Lucy Millgrim is not like other children. She has already broken three American records through USA Weightlifting and recently stunned spectators by lifting 82 kg. Last month, during her participation in the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, Lucy delivered a remarkable sporting achievement that made her the talk of social media. Although her weight does not exceed 27 kg, she managed to lift a weight three times her own in a single precise movement. Some expressed concerns that these exercises might affect her growth, considering that her bones and muscles are still forming. In response, her father stated that her training is carried out under strict supervision, with an emphasis on proper technique without excessive pressure to increase weights, stressing that her safety remains the top priority. While most girls her age spend their time on their phones, Lucy lifts weights exceeding her own, practices wrestling, and trains five times a week. She also mentioned that weightlifting helps her release energy, expressing her ambition to become an Olympic champion in the future. Lucy's father, Britt Millgrim, told People magazine that she was always a "naturally strong child," noting that her physical abilities were evident from a young age. Lucy said: "My parents were working out at the gym, and I saw them doing amazing things, so I wanted to try it too." She was drawn to wrestling because her father is a coach in this sport and used to take her and her brother to training.
