TikTok Layoffs Amid Uncertain Future

TikTok initiates layoffs in its trust and safety team globally as part of a restructuring process. This follows recent challenges regarding its status in the U.S.

TikTok Layoffs Amid Uncertain Future

Three sources reported yesterday that the TikTok application is reducing the staff of employees worldwide due to restructuring. The operations manager in the application, Adam Prizer, sent a notification to employees about the start of the personnel reduction process. The process began on the same day for teams in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. TikTok representatives have yet to comment on requests for comments.

These actions are taking place against the backdrop of an uncertain future for the application. Last month, the popular app was briefly blocked in the USA, where its usage is around a quarter of the American population, due to an impending ban or sale of the application on January 19. Later, the app was unblocked in the USA for three months under the order of President Donald Trump.

In October of last year, the company laid off employees globally.
