According to Gartner, a company specializing in business and technology data analytics, the number of electric vehicles of all categories, including cars, buses, and light and heavy trucks, is expected to reach 116 million on the roads by 2026. Despite the U.S. government imposing tariffs on vehicle imports and many governments canceling subsidies and incentives for purchasing electric vehicles, forecasts indicate a 30% increase in the number of electric vehicles on the roads by 2026. The use of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles is projected to grow by 32%. China will control 61% of the total operational base.

As stated by Jonathan Davenport, Chief Analyst at Gartner: 'Despite the U.S. government imposing tariffs on vehicle imports and many governments canceling subsidies and incentives for purchasing electric vehicles, forecasts indicate a 30% increase in the number of electric vehicles on the roads by 2026.'
