A rare copy of the comic book that introduced the world to Superman, once stolen from the home of American actor Nicolas Cage, has been sold for a record-breaking $15 million. The deal for the purchase of the "Action Comics No. 1" comic book was announced on Friday. This amount exceeds the previous record for a comic book set last November when a copy of "Superman No. 1" was sold at auction for $12.9 million. The sale of the "Action Comics No. 1" was handled by the company "Metropolis Collectible/ComicConnect," which stated that the book's owner and buyer requested anonymity. The comic book, which sold for 10 cents when it was released in 1938, was a collection of stories about characters that are now mostly unknown. However, on a few panels, the original story of Superman's birth on a dying planet, his journey to Earth, and his decision as an adult to "channel his great strength into channels to benefit humanity" was told. The publication of this story marks the beginning of superhero literature. Vincent Zurzolo, head of "Metropolis Collectible/ComicConnect," stated that there are about 100 known copies of the "Action Comics No. 1" comic book.
