Joker: Folie à Deux Nominated for Razzie Awards

The film "Joker: Follywood" has been nominated for seven "Retsy" awards, the Antioscar, which are awarded for the worst films of 2024. Among the categories in which this musical film, which commercially flopped last fall, was nominated are Worst Film and Worst Sequel.

The first part of "Joker", where Joaquin Phoenix played the role of Arthur Fleck, received an Oscar for Best Actor. However, in this part, Phoenix was nominated for the "Retsy" in the Worst Actor category, while his co-star in the film, Lady Gaga, was nominated in the Worst Actress category.

The film grossed $200 million, which is approximately five times less than the first part earned at the box office, while the production budget is significantly higher. The "Golden Raspberry" awards, also known as the "Retsy", were established by former students and workers of the film industry in Hollywood in 1981.

These awards are usually presented on the day before the Oscars ceremony. The film "Megalopolis" directed by Frances Ford Coppola was nominated in six categories, and "Madame Web" in six as well, analogous to the biographical film "Reagan" and based on the video game "Borderlands". The film "Anfrosted," directed by Jerry Seinfeld, a surreal story about a sweet pastry, received four nominations. The full list of nominees for the Oscars will be announced today.
