The wife of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, Vanessa, has requested that producers of his documentary delay its release. This request comes after Vanessa was compelled to speak out due to the conflict with the relatives of those who perished along with her husband in the crash. As it became known, family members have repeatedly attempted to influence changes in the film, yet their pleas have not been taken into account. The documentary was supposed to be released on October 16, but now is a future project in question.
"They were trying to censor the questions that I consider extremely important for me and my children," Vanessa Bryant said about the producers of the film. According to her, she wanted the documentary to fully reflect the true values and attitudes of Kobe, as well as his teachings about children. The wife of the famous athlete believes that it is essential to take into account the wishes of the family and maintain access to the memory of the deceased. Moreover, she emphasized that changes in the documentary shouldn’t cost the film as a whole, but the producers couldn’t find a compromise. Now the documentary is under consideration, and its premiere date is still unknown.
