In January of the current year, Los Angeles was engulfed by destructive wildfires in forested areas. The fire spread across a large territory in the vicinity of the mountains, threatening both the population and natural resources.

According to preliminary data, the area of the fires amounted to several thousand hectares. Firefighting and rescue services worked at the limit of their capabilities to manage the flare-ups. Several populated areas were forced to evacuate due to the rapid spread of the flames.

"The situation is very serious, we are doing everything possible to protect people and homes from the flames," noted a representative of the Emergency Situations Ministry. Scientists also link the increase in wildfires to climate change, which makes forested areas more susceptible to certain parts and intense fires.
