Dolly Parton Mourns the Loss of Husband Carl Dean

Musical coral singer Dolly Parton announced the passing of her husband Carl Dean, who passed away yesterday at the age of 82. The couple had lived together for nearly 60 years, but their marriage always remained out of the public eye. Reflecting on her relationship with Carl, Parton wrote on social media: "We spent some remarkable years together. There are no words to express all the love we shared for over 60 years." Parton met Carl Dean when she was 18 and he was 21, in 1964, by her car in Nashville, Tennessee, on the day she moved to the country music capital. The young couple married two years later, in 1966. Over 58 years of marriage, they had no children, and Carl always remained away from the press, working as a road builder, while his wife became famous and received the title "Queen of Country Music."
