Los Angeles — A major storm has hit California, leading to the evacuation of hundreds in affected areas amid expectations of flooding and travel delays during Christmas in most parts of the state, officials said. Weather expert Ariel Cohen of the National Weather Service addressed state residents, saying: 'If you are planning to travel during the Christmas holiday, please reconsider your plans.' On Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a warning of 'heavy rain, snow, and wind in California through Friday,' urging residents in northern, central, and southern parts of the state to 'exercise extreme caution'.
