Actor Will Smith was accused of alleged sexual harassment by a violinist who worked with him during the tour for his latest album, in a legal case initiated in the state of California at the end of 2025. According to the Argentine News Agency, the complaint was filed by Brian King Joseph in the Superior Court of California and includes charges of sexual harassment and wrongful termination. According to the court filing, the musician accused the actor of having "predatory behavior" and of creating a hostile work environment during the Based on a True Story tour, with which Smith recently returned to music. According to the document, Joseph's lawyers argued that Smith would have "deliberately laid the groundwork for the sexual exploitation" of the violinist in early 2025. The central incident would have occurred during a stop on the tour in Las Vegas, when the complainant discovered that someone had entered his hotel room without authorization. According to the lawsuit, Joseph found a note with a suggestive message that read: "Brian, you will return... just us", accompanied by a heart and signed by a person identified as "Stone F". He also found various objects that did not belong to him, including wet wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication with a third party's name, a ring, and medical documents of an unknown person. The musician's legal representatives stated that Joseph interpreted the situation as a "sexual threat" and feared that an unknown individual would return to his room to force him to have sexual relations. After reporting what happened, always according to the complaint, a member of Smith's team would have humiliated him and then he was informed of his disassociation from the tour. The court filing states that the episode caused the violinist severe emotional distress, financial losses, damage to his reputation, and psychological consequences, including post-traumatic stress and other mental health disorders. In response to the accusation, Will Smith's lawyer, Allen B. Grodsky, categorically denied the facts in statements to the US media. "The accusations of Mr. Joseph against my client are false, unfounded, and reckless. We deny them resolutely and will use all available legal resources to clarify the truth," he affirmed.
