Synopsis: The story is set approximately a century before the events of "Game of Thrones" (and about 70 years after "House of the Dragon"). During this time, the Targaryen dynasty still sits on the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon is still fresh in people's minds. The plot follows the adventures of an unlikely pair traveling through the landscapes of Westeros: Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk): A young wandering knight, naive yet brave and of great stature, who seeks to earn his living and honor in tournaments and battlefields. Egg: His small and mysterious squire, a bald and sharp-witted boy who actually hides a royal identity: he is Prince Aegon Targaryen, the future King Aegon V.
Details: As it became known, the series focuses on the life of the common folk, the hedge knights, and the social injustices of the kingdom. The series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" (in English, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms") is the new spin-off of the "Game of Thrones" universe, based on the short novels by George R.R. Martin known as the "Tales of Dunk and Egg". Unlike the original series or "House of the Dragon", this production proposes a more intimate, adventurous tone and is less focused on large-scale political conspiracies. Its premiere is scheduled for this Sunday, January 18, on the HBO Max streaming platform. Additionally, based on three short novels (The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight), the narrative is more linear and focuses on the travels of the protagonists.
The series explores the seeds of what was to come. Aegon V (Egg) was known as "The Unlikely" for being the fourth son of a fourth son, and his reign attempted to improve the lives of the common folk, something that sowed discontent among the nobles. Furthermore, Dunk goes on to become the legendary Commander of the Kingsguard. "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is, in essence, a story of friendship, honor, and learning what it truly means to be a hero in a world where kings and lords often forget their people.
