Hilary Duff, who played his daughter on the 'Lizzie McGuire' series, expressed her grief in an Instagram post, reminiscing about their time working together. 'This hurts. It's very hard to face this reality about an old friend. There was so much warmth in the McGuire family, and I always felt so cared for by my on-screen parents. He was one of the coolest guys you could ever meet. Funny, pragmatic, sometimes irritable, always a little eccentric,' she described. 'He was a talented actor, musician, and director. But more than anything, he was family. I have many good memories of being with him and his family throughout my life. Good times, challenging times, and lots of laughter in between,' she recalled. 'A twenty-year age difference really isn't that much, and although I never thought of him as a brother, I always thought of him as my partner. Rest in peace, Bobby, I love you more,' she concluded. The most heart-wrenching message was from his own daughter, Ever, who described her father as sweet, fun, and 'the guy who was always there for you.' The actress detailed the depth of her bond with her father, noting that she often saw him as her 'partner.' 'I knew my father loved me, I knew it deeply in my bones, and I always knew he had my back. I think in part it's because we basically grew up together. I was lucky to have known Bobby for most of my life. I am deeply sad to know that Bobby was suffering. My heart aches for him, his family, and everyone who loved him,' she wrote, along with pictures of them on set. Jake Thomas, who also played the actor's son on the Disney series, lamented his death and remembered his cheerful personality when they worked together as a family. 'My heart is broken.
