American journalist and host Savannah Guthrie announced a reward of one million dollars for any information that leads to the whereabouts of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since February 1st. The offer was made through an emotional video message shared on social networks. "If you're hearing this message, if you've been waiting and weren't sure, let this be the sign." The Guthrie family's offer adds to the $100,000 contributed by the FBI and another $100,000 from an anonymous donor, while the case remains stalled. The operation involves more than 400 local, state, and federal agents. "But we need to know where she is. Please, come forward, tell us what you know, and help bring our beloved mom home," said the host of the Today show. The 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1st after all traces of her disappeared from her home north of Tucson, in the state of Arizona. According to authorities, Nancy Guthrie may have been abducted during the early morning hours on the day she disappeared. However, the case is still classified as a disappearance, as her whereabouts have not been established nor has it been confirmed if she is still alive. The host clarified that the reward will be granted on the condition of recovering her mother, even if the outcome is not the one hoped for. "Maybe we've already lost her," she admitted bluntly, although she added, "If she has gone to the Lord she loves and is dancing in paradise with her family, we will accept that." During the investigation, DNA samples belonging to a possible suspect were collected, but to date there have been no identifications or arrests, nor has the motive for the crime been confirmed.
