Family members of the singer Willie Colon reported this afternoon the details of the funeral arrangements related to the farewell and honoring the legacy of the famous 'Malo del Bronx'. Through the trombonist's Facebook account, it was detailed that the family will hold a private wake on Saturday, March 7, with family and close friends, and a public wake on Sunday, March 8, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the McMahon, Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home, in New York. Additionally, a requiem mass will be held next Monday, March 9, at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York, starting at 9:30 AM. However, the burial will be a private event. Close ones asked the public that, instead of bringing flowers, they support the Interstitial Lung Disease Program at Columbia University. 'Contributions made in his name will help advance research and care for other people living with this difficult disease,' the family expressed. Colon died at the age of 75 at New York-Presbyterian Hospital due to alleged respiratory problems.
