The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the incident, indicating that the plane experienced engine trouble. Aerial images from CBS showed passengers evacuating via the slides. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop at LAX airport for several hours to evaluate the emergency. Los Angeles authorities have increased surveillance in the city after the United States and Israel launched air strikes against Iran over the weekend. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced that the Police would deploy a large number of officers, adding that 'many Angelenos feel affected and deeply concerned'.
