California Jewelry Heist

A jewelry heist occurred in northern California. A group of armed, masked robbers carried out a coordinated attack. During the incident, jewelry worth approximately $1.7 million was stolen in just 70 seconds. Surveillance footage released by the U.S. Department of Justice showed the robbers, armed with axes and hammers, stealing gold, diamonds, and other jewelry. Authorities estimate that more than three-quarters of the store's inventory was taken. In a related incident last June, a police pursuit in Fremont took place. Officers chased a black Acura car that was traveling at speeds of around 130 km/h, crossing into oncoming traffic and running through stop signs. After a short chase and a brief foot pursuit, four men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested. Prosecutors believe the Fremont heist may be linked to another incident that occurred three months later in San Ramon, California.
