On March 10, a customer from Manchester, Brittany Smith, filmed a video showing the 78-year-old Richard slowly climbing the stairs with a coffee order. Impressed by his efforts, Smith posted the video on Facebook, asking for help in finding him. She wrote: "Why does a DoorDash driver work? His name is Richard. Please help me find him." The story then spread widely. Delivery driver Richard Poley and his wife Brenda were facing high medical expenses after Brenda lost her job, forcing them to seek additional income to cover daily costs and treatment bills. In response to Smith's call, Richard and Brenda launched a GoFundMe campaign. Brenda said, "It's really hard to believe there are so many generous people who want to help us," explaining that the couple faces hefty medical expenses every year. This donation will allow Richard and Brenda to slow down their pace of life and live more peacefully. Richard, thanking everyone for their unexpected support, said, "This will take a lot of pressure off us and make life possible again."
