Villeneuve and 'Dune' Stars Unveil Final Trailer for Part Three

Denis Villeneuve, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Anya Taylor-Joy made a surprise appearance at the trailer premiere for 'Dune: Part Three' at the AMC Century City in Los Angeles. The event created a clear sense of being in the presence of one of the year's major films. According to Villeneuve, the third installment will be a thriller, distinct from the first, which he described as contemplative, and the second, a war film. The story takes place 17 years after the events of the second part, with the core relationship between Paul and Chani remaining central. The director emphasized the importance of watching such films in a cinema, mentioning he shot on film while using digital for the desert scenes in IMAX. Robert Pattinson, describing his character Scytale, said he wouldn't call him a conventional villain. Javier Bardem highlighted the internal conflict of his character, while Anya Taylor-Joy characterized her character Alia as having a very intense kind of blessing and curse. Zendaya shared that these films mean a great deal to her. Denis Villeneuve admitted this is possibly his most personal project and that the decision to make a third film was driven by 'urgency' rather than nostalgia.
