Ongoing legal cases remain for James Farring in Kentucky concerning a hit-and-run in Fayette County and an intimidation charge in Scott County. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon for a preliminary hearing. Police arrested James Farring, who gained fame after winning last year's Kentucky Powerball jackpot of $167 million, on charges of breaking into a home in Lexington, according to court documents and stealing thousands of dollars from it. Farring was arrested Saturday on charges of robbery and marijuana possession, according to WKYT. According to the arrest report, Farring forced his way into the home where the victim reported seeing the suspect at the back door through surveillance cameras. The victim told police she heard a loud commotion, as if a door had been broken, according to the report. She also told officers that she had lost $12,000 in cash that she had stored in the home after the suspect left. Officers found Farring's car in a nearby parking lot after police said he fled the scene before they arrived. However, he was later arrested inside a store. In April 2025, Farring was arrested in Florida on charges of battery and resisting authorities, which is a misdemeanor.
