The movie "The Time We Have" tells the story of Tobias and Almut, a couple who come together after an accident that will mark not only their relationship but also their individual lives as they face various adversities, including an illness that will change their destiny forever. Through this film, Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh immerse us in an emotional journey marked by constant change, but which finds refuge in love and understanding.
In Florence Pugh's words about the film: "As in any part of life, there are many moments of humor in the darkness; that’s how we get through. We are a community, we are a tribe, that’s how we overcome things. I think the fact that people laugh and also cry in a film is quite true to how we are and how we handle ourselves."
Beyond the romantic plot between Tobias and Almut, the movie captures some of the most genuine characteristics of human beings, as Florence Pugh mentions while joining Andrew Garfield in this cinematic project. It also highlights the direction of John Crowley, who was a key part of the production, sharing an intense journey through "The Time We Have".
The film's director, John Crowley, mentioned: "It’s fair to say it was intense, we worked really hard on it. From the rehearsals, they realized that they made each other laugh a lot, and that was sincere; also, as we worked together and rehearsed, it became clear that they trusted each other creatively, and it was very moving to see them in rehearsals. This was the first big heavy work we were going to film, and both were very nervous doing it, and we filmed it, and afterwards it was really wonderful."
"The Time We Have" marks Andrew Garfield's return to the big screen after a complicated time in his life, and the meeting of two promising figures in the international film industry. Both actors revealed the most enriching part of playing their characters in this emotional story.
