Cruise ship passengers in Florida have been infected with a highly contagious virus. Although the exact cause of the illness has not yet been determined, norovirus often appears as one of the causes on cruise ships.
According to the surveillance data, only a few passengers complained of symptoms characteristic of norovirus after traveling on a cruise ship in Florida. They encountered an unspecified intestinal infection caused by a large group of viruses.
"Our priority is the safety and well-being of our passengers, and we are taking all necessary measures to isolate the infected, disinfect the premises, and prevent the spread of the virus," said a representative of the cruise company.
Symptoms of norovirus include vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and general malaise. Specialists advise maintaining hygiene, avoiding contact with the infected, and immediately seeking medical help upon showing similar symptoms.
