A 34-year-old woman from Georgia, Lydia Ward, experienced a sudden health scare after temporarily losing her ability to speak and read due to excessive use of e-cigarettes. Lydia described her experience, saying: 'It was like looking through a very blurry glass, the words didn't make sense, and I couldn't remember how to read or pronounce words correctly.' She added: 'These symptoms appeared suddenly while I was feeling dizzy and tired, I couldn't even drive a car or recognize people close to me.' After being examined in the hospital, doctors reported that the symptoms resemble a stroke, and exposure to harmful chemicals in e-cigarettes temporarily impedes blood flow to the brain. These substances also cause inflammation in the eyes and vocal cords, leading to blurred vision and difficulty speaking. Lydia Ward stated that she quit smoking completely after the incident and urged everyone, especially young people, to think carefully about the risks of this habit before getting involved, emphasizing that health is more important than any fleeting habit. She said: 'Imagine waking up one day and not being able to put words together, it's a scary feeling, and it can happen to any smoker.'
