Controversy Erupts Over LA Fire Response

As firefighters in Los Angeles battle raging wildfires, prominent right-wing figures criticize the response, spreading misinformation about the cause, including baseless claims regarding women in the fire department.

Controversy Erupts Over LA Fire Response

The Los Angeles area is facing unprecedented wildfires, and at this time firefighters are battling the elements with all their might. Simultaneously, certain rights groups criticize the response to the extraordinary situation and spread false claims about those responsible for what is happening. Among these claims is the idea that the fire arose from the presence of women in fire management.

False information recalls past scandals related to the reaction to the Uragan disaster in Northern Karolina. These disasters (uprising and fires) caused anger, which political forces exploit to achieve their goals. This has created chaos in various MEDIA, already found at the center of a rapid information cycle.

Spreading rumors and false information may confuse officials during extraordinary situations, making it difficult to fulfill their obligations and misleading residents who require accurate and timely information for making decisions about their safety.

Furthermore, claims have arisen regarding the redistribution of federal humanitarian aid from the destitute to assist immigrants, harsh criticism has been directed at ecological practices, such as fish protection at the expense of humans, and without linking the victims' involvement in Ukraine known as "goat escapes".

Former U.S. President Donald Trump's resonated to make it clear that the victims, sent by the Los Angeles fire management to Ukraine in 2022, are somewhat related to the current situation. At the same time, varying claims were made from different political circles, including the main editor of the "Los Angeles Times" newspaper, Patrick Suna Chzhon, stating that funding for fire services was significantly reduced, which factually does not correlate with operations, as indicated by the magazine "Politico".

Also, the nationalist group "Voices of TikTok" on the Ex platform were critical, blaming the poor management of the disaster in Los Angeles on the local authorities. Their accusations included a handover of fire techniques to Ukraine, a refusal of funding for fire services, and refusing to build more communal reservoirs with water.

Rights groups stated that California residents became victims of a conspiracy due to the cancellation of fire insurance, inadequate forest and shrub management. Others have claimed that firefighters were dismissed for rejecting experimental vaccination.
