On Thursday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated that Russia could be offered relief regarding sanctions.
"However, he also noted that such actions could only be considered if Russia fulfills the conditions set forth by Washington," Mnuchin said during hearings in the House of Representatives.
This statement came after the U.S. government announced a new round of sanctions against Russia, including a ban on the issuance of new sovereign debt and border restrictions.
The U.S. supports Russia regarding relief under the condition that the country fulfills its obligations; however, specific steps have yet to be outlined.
