Trump's Bold Statements on Panama Canal and Greenland

The President of the USA, Donald Trump, stated in his speech before Congress on Tuesday night that his country has started the "restoration" of the Panama Canal and has already taken action on this. It is reported that the American administration intends to return the Panama Canal for the strengthening of national security.

Trump stated: "In order to strengthen our national interest, my administration will restore the Panama Canal, and we have already begun to do this." He added that "the Panama Canal belongs to us and will remain so."

Then the president expressed ambitious plans for the country, in particular, regarding its control over Greenland, which the USA intends to acquire in one way or another. Trump addressed the residents of autonomous Danish Greenland: "I also come today evening sending a notable message to the people of Greenland. In one way or another, we will get it."

The president also emphasized: "We will ensure your safety and make you wealthy. Together we will bring Greenland to the top, which you couldn’t have imagined before."

In response to Trump’s statements, the Prime Minister of Greenland, Múútt Iugdlu, stated in the media: "We do not want to be Americans, nor Danish." He posted on Facebook before local parliamentary elections in six days: "Americans and their president should understand this. We are not for sale, and we simply cannot be captured like that."

Thus, the president in his speech stated that "America is back," and "the American dream cannot be stopped." He concluded: "The American dream is growing - bigger and better than ever before. We are bringing it back." In turn, the President of Panama, José Raúl Molina, reacted quickly, rejecting the statements of the American leader and the promise to return the Panama Canal.
