Max Lesnik, a known propagandist of Castro's regime, passed away in Miami. Despite the exodus of thousands of Cubans from communism, Lesnik chose to use democracy and freedom in the United States to support those responsible for the suppression in his homeland of Cuba.
One of Lesnik's most remembered statements regarding this is: "If Castro's regime falls, I will fall with it." This expressed his loyalty to the regime he decided to defend even when many of his compatriots left in search of a new horizon.
Throughout his life, Lesnik maintained a controversial and defiant stance, generating debates and controversies around his support for the Cuban government. Despite criticisms and differing opinions, he never renounced his convictions and remained true to his ideals until the end, leaving a legacy that continues to be a subject of reflection and discussion in the Cuban-American community.
