
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reiterated on Friday his calls for Russia and Ukraine to make "concessions" following the final statement of the G7, which supported the integrity of Ukrainian territory.
Pompeo called on Moscow and Kyiv to make concessions after leaders of the G7 member countries spoke out for the preservation of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
"We hope that both Moscow and Kyiv will start taking the necessary steps for peace and security," the Secretary noted.
"In light of the G7 statements, Russia and Ukraine should continue to seek diplomatic avenues for resolving the conflict in Eastern Ukraine," Pompeo added.
Pompeo also engaged with the heads of Ukraine and Russia's diplomatic missions, emphasizing the importance of continuing negotiations and stabilizing the situation in Donbas.
