Brussels, AFP — NATO confirmed on Wednesday that it had been previously informed of the US plan to reduce the number of its troops deployed in eastern member countries, describing the move as merely an 'adjustment' to the current situation and not involving anything 'unusual'. A NATO official stated, 'Even with this adjustment, the presence of US forces in Europe remains larger than it has been for many years, with significantly more US troops on the continent than was the case before 2022.' He added that Washington's commitment to the alliance remains 'clear'.
