Democrat Zohran Mamdani won Tuesday's mayoral election in New York with 50% of the vote, according to projections collected by AP, CNN, and NBC News. Mamdani, 34, will become New York's youngest mayor since 1892 and also the first Muslim, after defeating independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa, according to the provisional results with 69% of the vote counted.
