Business magnate Elon Musk sparked a major controversy on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by intervening in the New York elections and refusing to deny a serious accusation made by a user.
Musk posted a message calling for a vote for independent candidate Andrew Cuomo: "Remember to vote tomorrow in New York! VOTE FOR CUOMO!".
In the same post, the owner of X warned: "Be aware that a vote for Curtis (Sliwa) is really a vote for Mumdumi or whatever his name is".
The controversy escalated when the "Trump Tracker" account replied directly to Musk, accusing him: "This is the third sexual harasser you have supported".
Instead of denying or refuting the serious accusation, Musk responded to the user hours later with a challenging question: "Do you have a better suggestion?".
