The United States condemned the Sudanese army's use of chemical weapons, which violates international agreements. The US also called on the parties to the conflict in Sudan to immediately and unconditionally accept a humanitarian ceasefire, while at the same time criticizing the atrocities committed against civilians. Jeffrey Bartlett, the US representative to the United Nations, said during a Security Council session on Monday that both sides of the conflict must accept an immediate ceasefire. Bartlett confirmed that the Trump administration unequivocally condemns the atrocities committed by both parties against civilians, as well as the use of chemical weapons by the Sudanese Armed Forces in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
