A report on Tuesday stated that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a nationwide campaign targeting the rejection of asylum requests from thousands of people whose cases are currently in immigration courts, with the possibility of deporting them to countries other than their own. The report noted that according to the new approach of the U.S. administration, lawyers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are asking judges in immigration courts to reject asylum cases without hearing them on their merits. The report also added that lawyers representing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are also demanding that judges order the deportation of asylum seekers to countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, and Uganda.
