'We are making tremendous progress while helping Venezuela to stabilize and recover,' Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social. In this regard, he emphasized that 'this partnership between the United States and Venezuela will be spectacular for everyone.' Venezuela will soon be great and prosperous again, perhaps as never before,' the magnate also expressed. Furthermore, he mentioned that 'we discussed many topics, including oil, minerals, trade, and of course, national security.' The phone call between Trump and Rodríguez took place ten days after Maduro's arrest during an operation conducted by U.S. forces in Caracas. Subsequently, Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were transferred to a prison in New York, where they await trial for their alleged ties to narco-terrorism and other serious drug-related crimes.
