Judge Denies OpenAI and Microsoft's Motion to Dismiss Elon Musk's Lawsuits

Two companies, OpenAI and Microsoft, failed to escape trial after Elon Musk accused the startup he founded, led by Sam Altman, of betraying its foundational mission as a public benefit non-profit. Musk alleges that the company violated its core purpose by securing billions in funding from software giant Microsoft and planning to operate as a for-profit entity. On Thursday, a federal judge in Oakland, California, rejected requests from both companies to dismiss Musk's lawsuits and ordered the case to be sent to a jury trial, scheduled for late April. A spokesperson for OpenAI stated that Musk's lawsuit is noteworthy. It is worth mentioning that Musk helped Altman launch OpenAI in 2015 before founding his own AI company in 2023.
