U.S. Destroys Another Drug Boat in Caribbean

U.S. forces destroyed another drug trafficking boat in the Caribbean Sea, leaving three dead. These actions continue despite tensions with the Venezuelan government and criticism from various countries and international organizations, which have questioned the legitimacy and legality of these attacks without strong public evidence linking the vessels to drug trafficking. Since September 2025, this offensive has recorded over 130 deaths in at least 38 attacks on suspicious vessels, according to official reports. Under the orders of the commander of U.S. Southern Command, General Francis L. Donovan, U.S. forces have increased their operations in international zones of the Caribbean, strategically important for drug trafficking to North America and Europe. The U.S. military actions have caused diplomatic repercussions, as many countries and organizations have condemned these attacks as violations of sovereignty and international law. The operation is part of the so-called 'Operation Southern Spear,' a military campaign launched by Washington in 2025 to intercept maritime drug trafficking routes and groups considered narco-terrorists in the Caribbean and the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
