US Kills Three in New Caribbean Drug Trafficking Strike

US Kills Three in New Caribbean Drug Trafficking Strike

The U.S. armed forces killed three men in a new attack on a boat in the Caribbean, allegedly operated by drug traffickers, announced the U.S. Southern Command on Monday, bringing the total death toll to at least 150 since these operations began in 2025.

Monday's attack took place within the framework of Operation Southern Lance, through which the U.S. has bombed more than 40 ships since last September to combat drug trafficking in the Central America, South America, and Caribbean region, while also increasing pressure on Venezuela.

The Southern Command stated that U.S. forces «conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by organizations designated as terrorist».

«Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was transiting along known drug trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was involved in drug trafficking operations. Three male narcoterrorists were killed in this action. The vessel sustained damage,» asserted the agency on its social media.

Operation «Southern Lance»

This new bombing comes after an operation that left three dead last Friday in the Pacific, also for alleged drug trafficking.

Last week, the U.S. armed forces also announced the destruction of three boats linked to drug trafficking, allegedly, in the Pacific and the Caribbean, in an operation that left 11 dead in total, the largest simultaneous attack since the start of Operation Southern Lance.

With Monday's attack, the total number of bombings would reach 44 and 150 dead since these offensives began, according to counts by the U.S. national press.
