Following harsh criticism once again launched by President Donald Trump against Mexico, President Claudia Sheinbaum demanded this Monday over the persistence of arms trafficking and drug consumption in that country, benefiting Mexican drug cartels. During her morning press conference, the president recalled that at least 75% of the weapons held by Mexican cartels come from the United States. 'Where there is collaboration in intelligence and other issues, it is usually at the request of the government of Mexico,' she said. Additionally, she assured that her government will do everything necessary to defend our national security. Trump at the Shield of the Americas summit: 'The epicenter of violence is Mexico'. In his speech, Trump even expressed enthusiasm for the use of missiles to attack drug trafficking targets, but at the same time accepted that President Sheinbaum 'with her beautiful voice' refuses U.S. intervention. Sheinbaum took this account positively this morning: 'It's good that President Trump says publicly that when he has proposed that the U.S. Army enter Mexico, we have said no. And, proudly, we continue to say no,' she said. The president insisted that she does not see the entry of U.S. troops as viable due to bilateral understanding, which she assured is yielding results. 'We will continue to collaborate within this framework with the principles of respect for sovereignty and territory.
