“That's what rats do.” The US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, stated that the new supreme leader of Iran, ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, is “injured and probably disfigured.” The United States offered a reward of $10 million for information about the whereabouts of the cleric and ten other high-ranking officials of the Islamic regime, including the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Intelligence and Security. “These individuals lead and control various elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran [IRGC], which plans, organizes, and carries out terrorist acts around the world,” stated the US Department of State. This week, following his proclamation as the new supreme leader, speculation about Khamenei's health grew. Iranian officials stated that the 56-year-old leader suffered injuries mainly to his legs during the February 28 bombing of the complex where his father lived and worked in Tehran. At a press conference from the Pentagon, Hegseth earlier gave another version of the son of the assassinated ayatollah Ali Khamenei's health condition: “We know the new, not-so-supreme leader is injured and probably disfigured. Desperately hiding, he went into hiding. Coward.”
