Melania Trump said she first met Epstein in 2000 at an event she attended with her future husband, Donald Trump. She added that at the time, she was unaware of his illegal actions. The First Lady also noted that her chance meeting with her husband at a party in New York in 1998 was not due to Epstein. Melania Trump urged Congress to hold public hearings for women victimized by Epstein to shed more light on the case. She stated that the issue of documents related to the deceased pedophile has heavily weighed on the Trump administration since last summer. Authorities were forced to release hundreds of thousands of documents, but this did not calm public discontent, which is believed to have been a factor in the recent dismissal of Attorney General Pam Bondi.
