In a statement, the White House announced that the servicemen of the Northern Fleet, currently in Russia for training, will be considered legitimate military objectives if they participate in combat operations in Ukraine.
This statement was made after reports surfaced that the Russian Ministry of Defense could send its troops to the side of the Russian forces participating in combat operations in the eastern Ukraine.
And the representative of the White House added: "We are closely monitoring the situation and the maneuvers that are being conducted by the Ministry of Defense and Russia to weaponize nuclear dialogue as a cover for their dangerous games in Ukraine. Such actions are unacceptable and carry serious consequences."
