The star Jimmy Butler has been involved in a high-impact trade in the NBA, moving from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors led by Stephen Curry. In addition to Miami and Golden State, the operation also involves the Utah Jazz, the Detroit Pistons, and the Toronto Raptors.

Butler, 35 years old and a six-time All-Star, signed a two-year extension with the Warriors for 121 million dollars, until the 2026-2027 season, opting out of his player option for the 2025-2026 season. During his six seasons with the Heat, Butler reached the NBA Finals twice but did not win the title in either.

To acquire Butler's services, Golden State traded Andrew Wiggins, who will join Miami along with a first-round draft pick; Dennis Schroder, who is heading to Utah after being recently traded from the Brooklyn Nets; and Kyle Anderson, initially destined for Toronto, although the agreement with the Raptors is not yet finalized.

The NBA trade deadline is tomorrow, Thursday, February 6, at 3 PM Eastern Time in the U.S. This operation ends a difficult situation in Miami, where Butler, who has been the team's star in recent years, had received several suspensions, the last one indefinitely.
