Hirving Chucky Lozano has officially begun his activity with San Diego FC, the new MLS franchise. The team debuted with a victory over the current champion, LA Galaxy.
Concacaf has revealed the preliminary rosters of Mexico, the United States, Canada, and Panama for the Final Four of the Nations League. Chucky Lozano is included in the initial call-up by Mexican coach Javier Vasco Aguirre, along with other players such as Germán Berterame, Obed Vargas, Guillermo Ochoa, and Alan Mozo.
Hirving Lozano has been without a national team appearance for almost a year. His last participation was in last year’s Nations League final, where Mexico lost to the United States. After that match, he criticized the team’s approach, which was interpreted as a critique of Jaime Lozano, the coach at that time.
Since then, Chucky has not been called up by either Lozano or Aguirre. He missed the Copa América, six friendly matches, and the quarterfinals of the Nations League. He was also not called for games against Internacional de Porto Alegre and River Plate in 2025.
Now it is expected that Aguirre will include him in the final list of 23 players. The deadline to submit it to Concacaf is March 10.
