F1 driver Franco Colapinto stated that he was "not happy with the pace" of the Alpine car during the Brazilian Grand Prix, held this Sunday at the Interlagos circuit.
In post-race television interviews, the 22-year-old driver analyzed the performance of the French team's car and expressed dissatisfaction with the strategy employed by the team.
"I was behind Fernando (Alonso) the whole race, and it was very difficult to pass," Colapinto began. "His front wing was a bit damaged," he asserted.
He also reiterated the poor strategic choice: "I did the same as everyone else, and that doesn't get you anywhere when you start so far back, unless your name is Verstappen, and in that case, maybe you can do something."
"The pace wasn't bad, but I also didn't feel like the car had good balance," he added.
Along the same lines, he said: "There are things to check at the factory after the weekend, but I'm not very happy with how the car was going and with the pace."
Additionally, the 22-year-old Argentine driver, who has just been confirmed by the French entity for 2026, is looking ahead to the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday, November 23.
"It was a weekend where I was fast last year, so I'm looking forward to going there," he said. And he added: "It was a bit of a boring race. Hopefully we'll have a good weekend over there," he said.
Finally, he referred to the incident he had with Ferrari's English driver, Lewis Hamilton, where the Briton hit Colapinto's rear tire.
"I saw it in the mirror, but I didn't even realize. The Dutchman started from the pit lane and managed to finish third."
