Jetson has unveiled its personal flying vehicle, the Jetson One. This electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, resembling a flying car from a science fiction movie, is designed for a single person and currently does not require a pilot's license to fly in the United States.

The vehicle was designed and tested on a small scale in 2010 to evaluate its expected performance, but it was not mass-produced. The Jetson One is currently available for order at a price of around $150,000 (excluding taxes and fees), with new orders scheduled for delivery in 2028.

Footage from the event, held in mid-October as part of the UP.Summit 2025, a private gathering for investors in the transportation sector, shows four Jetson 1 vehicles flying at an altitude of about 6 meters, weaving through cones and speeding across a grassy field and asphalt. Jetson claims to have addressed significant risks with an automated radar-based landing system, the ability to fly safely even after losing one of its eight engines, and a ballistic parachute designed for rapid deployment.

Development of electric vertical aircraft began after NASA launched the PAV concept in 2009. Car air races are no longer science fiction after the first-ever Jetson Air Games, which organizers described as "Formula 1 in the sky." The event featured pilots racing four Jetson 1 vehicles, dubbed by the manufacturer as "sky race cars," each competing to reach the finish line.
