Colapinto Blames Stroll for Brazilian GP Crash

Argentine Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto has heavily criticized his Aston Martin counterpart Lance Stroll, stating that he "leaves no space" after the Canadian caused a collision with Gabriel Bortoleto (Kick Sauber) that forced him out of the Brazilian Grand Prix. "He's always pushing people off the track, he just doesn't look in his mirrors, he leaves no space, and he sent Gabi into the wall," fired the Argentine from Pilar in comments to Motorsport about the incident that occurred in the first lap. In an attempt to gain positions, the Brazilian tried to overtake opponents on the outside of one of the Interlagos corners. Stroll, for his part, closed the gap and ended up hitting the Sauber's front tire. "If he had left me a little more space, I would have made the corner and probably would have passed him," exclaimed Colapinto. The next Formula 1 calendar event will be on Sunday, November 23, at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where the 22-year-old Argentine will aim to score his first points of the season with Alpine, after being confirmed by the team for 2026. Bortoleto lost control and crashed into the wall. During the race, Colapinto had a radio interaction with his team in which he pointed at the 27-year-old Canadian after attempting to overtake him on track, but the Aston Martin driver did not allow it with a tough defense. "He's an idiot, what is he doing?" exclaimed Colapinto. Bortoleto, for his part, chose to remain calm and downplayed the responsibility of the Montreal-born driver for the collision once the race was over. "You can't point fingers. I think it was a racing incident."
