Colapinto Confirmed in Las Vegas GP Starting Position

Argentine driver Franco Colapinto (Alpine) has been confirmed in his starting position for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, after the FIA stewards resolved the investigation into the alleged tire infringement. The sanction was applied solely to the team, with no sporting penalty for the driver. According to the Argentine News Agency, the FIA issued Document 36 at 03:45 AM (Argentine time), confirming that the Alpine team was fined €5,000 for the breach. The infringement was due to a breach of Article 30.5 g) of the regulations, which requires teams to electronically notify the FIA about the return of a set of intermediate tires after the wet free practice. The stewards' report clarified that while the tires were physically returned, the team failed to comply with the responsibility of electronically registering the return. In this way, Franco Colapinto maintains his 15th starting position for this Sunday's race, closing the question that had arisen after the qualifying session.
